Downton Abbey star Jim Carter plays an unhappy Santa in a new Greenpeace film, titled 'An Urgent Message From Santa'.

The film, part of the charity's Save The Arctic campaign, sees the actor as Saint Nick with the future of Christmas in jeopardy as the North Pole melts around him, warning that Christmas could be cancelled unless world leaders take action. Carter commented on the role, saying 'I want to do my part to help raise the profile of the threats posed to the Arctic by oil drilling and climate change'.
